The plantation Ratnagiri (translates to Pearl Mountain) was originally planted in 1920. The coffee is grown between 1200 and 1500 MASL in a zone of the Western Ghat mountains that gets consistent heavy rainfall. The coffee is grown under shade trees amidst pepper and cardamom groves.
Cupping Notes:
Dry Grounds: Sweet, spice, cocoa and stone fruit.
Wet Grounds: Sweet, cocoa, nutty.
In the Cup: Sweet, chocolate and nuts, Stone fruit, earth.
